So I voted today. They moved my polling place to Temple Shalom on LSD. I was surprised there were actually more voters that poll workers! I will say this for voting in a place of worship, the noise level is much better. I used the Democrat ballot, of course. Disappointing though, only one campaign worker was around the polling place handing out stuff... Chicago politics ain't what it used to be!

So here we are, it is a beautiful Saturday. And what am I kvetching about? My fucking shower!!! Or lack of, I should say. Last Tuesday, the shower pressure slowed down to a crawl. I was told by the building's not so super mismanager that, "I don't got my pump" that he uses to blow out the rust filled water pipes. Like the stupid idiot I am, I figured he would be by the next day with his pump so he could blow out my shower pipes. Silly me! So, on Thursday, I asked our building vampire about the shower. I was then told that his magic fucking pump was broken and it would take a week to fix. By this time the shower pressure was next to non-existent, so I called the excuse for a reality office. The boss of the maintenance people for all the buildings they own called back and said he would be here Friday. Guess to who didn't show up? I have spent the last 48 hours or so vibrating like a quartz crystal about this goofiness. So, I'm done bitching about the shower problem for the weekend as I'm too old for this bullshit. I think I'll sit here for a while and invent and look up some nasty things to say about corporations.

This happened in Chicago when the Move America Forward peeps showed up at a downtown hotel for a press conference and rally. I caught a bit of film on our local ABC station, WLS, on the 5 pm news Friday. Now, I must say channel 7 did a good job of covering the message of the anti Cindy Sheehan group. Then the tv cameras turned on the audience in the conference room. It looked like there were about 100 chairs. Maybe 10 had people seated in them. The one audience member that caught my eye was a middle aged guy with his arms folded across his chest. He also looked like he was fighting a losing battle to remain awake.

I hear they did much better in Rockford, Il. where they drew darn near 50 people at a rally in a gas station parking lot.
